About Melody
In
the
beginning,
there was a little girl named Melody, born third in a family of four children. Having two older
brothers and
a younger sister, life was never dull for this child of the
50's. Growing
up in North Carolina and Virginia for the first seven years of her life,
the
family then moved across the country to San Francisco for the following
five
years, giving her a wealth of experiences to learn and grow from.
The
three years to follow were still her formative ones, and these were
spent in
various locations in Jacksonville, Florida, and later returning to
Virginia. Even though she was rebellious
about moving again, and at that time returning to the Hampton Roads
area,
it is the place she has called home ever since.
Years
later, after two children, and a marriage that ended, Melody began her
very
difficult inward journey of self-discovery. Even though she had been
able to
read (sense) people for years, she was not aware of this
special
gift.
So in
1982, she started learning how to tune in with purpose by taking
weekly
classes led by a local gifted lady. At that time, she was
introduced to the book,
"As a Man Thinketh", by James Allen. To this day, it is still one of
her
favorites. It is a small book with a big message!
This was just the
beginning of her soul-ful trip through many other books, classes, and
connections assisting her to delve deeper on her inward journey.
Another influential book was,
"Soulmates" by: Jess Stearn. Near the end
of this
book, there is a technique of self-hypnosis described; when
reading it she thought, "I can do that!". Understanding and
using this technique, Melody
felt that she could really help others. This way, it is a personal
journey that the client
takes themselves, and their experiences are multi-sensory impressions
that
continue to be available for that individuals personal use whenever
needed.
Guess what?! A class on Hypnotherapy became available!
Oh yes!, she
enrolled, it
was fantastic and exceeded all of her expectations. Some
of her other talents include Feng Shui which is the balancing of
energies
in the home, office, stores, etc. She added to that the balancing and
healing energies of the body with learning Reiki in 1996. Then she became an ordained minister in 1997. This, she felt was the thread that tied her
purpose
and gifts together, to
continue
on her
path of service to others.
On her twenty-two year
journey of self-discovery
through
all
kinds of books, classes, healing modalities, psychic fairs, friends, groups, life
experiences, and
connecting to interesting, talented and loving people, she has certainly quenched her thirst for finding different avenues of
getting
answers
and expanding her vision and knowledge of self, as well as for helping others. So, in 2003,
she
started doing readings for a psychic phone-line on a regular basis. She prefers
to call
it Intuitive Counseling instead of Psychic readings. Since then, she has learned and practiced the Arthur Ford method of
channeling at the Delphi University, in Georgia.
Later at Delphi, she
learned a
more elaborate form of channeling, and this one is through art, Entura Art. While
looking at
someone's photograph, she tunes in to that person, and using
pastel chalks,
the "Entura Art" soul portrait drawing comes to life. When it is all
done, she then
interprets the drawing, recording it, so the person has a reading of
their
tangible and unique piece of art. She
loves to travel, whether driving or flying. She enjoys Lily Dale NY,
New
Orleans, Sedona AZ, St Petersburg FL, Nashville TN, and Orlando FL.
Most of these she can drive to in one day, 10 to 12 hours, and that's a
good travel
day for her.
She looks forward to
returning to Ireland, Prague,
Stonehenge, and
France. Her future travel plans include Alaska, Greece, Rome, and Switzerland.
Some
of Melody's favorite subjects are: angels, astrology, faeries, crystals and stones, mediumship,
numerology
(she loves numbers), palmistry, spirituality, tarot cards, anything metaphysical, Sun Bear's
medicine wheel, and places to travel to. She has many books on the aforementioned subjects. She collects books, and Tarot cards.
She loves
taking photos
of
interesting
cloud formations too.
In many of her traveling photos, Melody can be caught looking up to the sky, checking out the cloud figures she sees.
On a more personal note, she loves
to laugh, and really enjoys
people with a sense of
humor and adventure. She feels like as
long as you can laugh at yourself, you can keep yourself entertained. This she does, on a regular basis!
Some of her favorite historical people are: Einstein, DaVinci,
Edgar Cayce, and Buddha.
Favorite people, and whom she has attended many lectures and classes are: the late Robert 'Buz' Myers, Patricia Hayes ~ founder of Delphi University and creator of Entura Art, Jayne
Howard Feldman ~ the Angel Lady and author, John J Oliver ~ store owner and a Master teacher of many gifts, and Hoyt Robinette ~ medium ~ Spirit card circles, to name but a few of the cool and loving people I have had the honor to meet and get to know. (check out LINKS page)
She would love to meet Ellen DeGeneres one day because she makes her
laugh, loves her dancing, and because of all the good she does and her true caring for others. Melody did a personal 'treasure hunt' drawing for her too! (included on personal 'treasure hunts' page)
