Astro "Treasure Hunt" Art
This artwork is very different from
other Astrological pictures. In this ‘one of a kind’ artwork, the
drawings include 6 categories that pertain to the individual sign
represented. This
is all hidden in the drawing for you to go on the
hunt to seek out and find
the treasures significant to your chosen sign. Then, there is also a
"just for fun" category that relates to that sign as well. You
learn
about astrology in a fun way while locating the items there inthe
picture! Enjoy your ‘treasure hunt!’
This unique perspective
in art
form naturally engages the individual to see beyond appearances, to
search
deeper, and find the hidden shapes or rather, hidden treasures!
So how did
this complex, and sophisticated artwork evolve, we ask? Melody's
response is
refreshingly lighthearted and enthusiastically stated, "Doodling!"
Doodling? As defined:
1) To
scribble aimlessly, especially when preoccupied. 2) To kill time. Yes,
doodling.
While
attending one of her annual Astrological conferences in '99, Melody
began to feel the urge to
sleep during one of the extended speeches. Instead of missing the
speaker,
by going to her room for her power nap, she began
to doodle
on the paper in front of her. Just as the above definition describes,
the
artwork aimlessly began to take on shape and form as the first
Astro-Treasure
Hunt sign ARIES.
Melody was pleased with the outcome of this very
first
piece,
(below) and continued to
"doodle" her way through TAURUS, with a
more conscious effort, but with the same ease and relaxation of Aries (Aries
and relax
in the same sentence, hmmm?
At the close
of this seven day intensive, Melody shared these drawings to her friend
and mentor, ***Robert "Buz"
Myers who
promptly replied, "Wow look what you've channeled Melody!"
Channeled??
She didn't realize that was a form of channeling!
Later still, Melody showed
the art
to
her friend Judy of Richmond, Virginia, who responded with enthusiasm,
"Oh
Melody, you've gotto make a calendar with these!"
Hmmm, Melody
thought to
herself, we'll see, thinking that means 10 more pictures, ugh!
The following
months were difficult on a personal level. Not only from losing her dear
friend "Buz",
but also her husband "Mac" less than four months later. This definitely shifted her focus
away from
her art for a number of years. It wasn't until 2004 that she returned to
her
creative work, much to the encouragement of Judy, and the fact that her 'Astrologer' friend Iris Lee was then doing a monthly 'Cycles' booklet and needed covers for each month.
After that she then put it together in a calendar to share with others for 2006. She also designed t-shirts to share at the annual Intensive held here in Virginia Beach that year.
Learning
about each sign, and what they are known for, is a fun adventure when
you
engage in each artwork treasure hunt.
The items hidden randomly
throughout are
representative symbols of that specific astrological sign!

expanded this art work to include Personal
'Treasure Hunts'
which she started with doing them for her grand-children, and then
others.

***Robert 'Buz' Myers was an incredible Astrologer and was the father of our group
that started the annual Intensive back in 1993. He was known as a 'trend historian' with astrological facts.
He was the creator of Moon Phase work and wrote the book "Getting on Time with
Your Life", which teaches the 8 phases of the Moon, really cool stuff!
He made learning Astrology fun and interesting because he had such diverse wit and
a unique way of presenting his talks where he always included humor.
For the annual Intensive, he blended the Indian Medicine Wheel, and the 8 Phases
of the Moon, along with healing practices, and loving people.
At the end of the first cycle of 8 phases, he left us, leaving us terribly heartbroken
as a group but stronger as a family. We have continued to unite yearly, welcoming newcomers to gift us with their presence and input, as well as new visions and energy.
There are many gifted people in our family that willingly share their gifts with the group and all attendees. We have music, mediums, healers, and yes, astrologers too!
